Biography

 

Charlie Hall is a bass trombonist and first-year fellow of The Orchestra Now (TŌN), a graduate training orchestra at the Bard College Conservatory of Music. He completed his Master of Music at the Mannes School of Music in 2025. His teachers include Nicholas Schwartz (Bass Trombonist, New York City Ballet Orchestra),  Demian Austin (Principal Trombonist, Metropolitan Opera Orchestra), and Jack Schatz (NYC Freelancer).

 

Charlie received his Bachelor of Music from the University of Illinois at Urbana–Champaign, where he studied with Douglas Yeo, former bass trombonist of the Boston Symphony Orchestra, and Elliot Chasanov. While at Illinois, he received the Robert E. Gray Trombone Award in 2021. He has also participated in the Eastern Music Festival, where he studied with Christopher Davis.

 

Charlie is currently based in Hudson Valley, NY.
